Reaching Out, BLIA participate in “Strides for Mackenzie Health”
On May 13th 2023, the DaJue Subchapter of BLIA Toronto participated in the “Strides for Mackenzie Health” at Canada’s Wonderland. Uphold the “Four Givings” of the BLIA motto, and reaching out to the community, the purpose of this event was to promote community health, and inspire individuals to actively engage in charitable endeavors.
Guided by the mission of “Benefiting Society through Charity and Welfare”, the DaJue Subchapter of BLIA Toronto endorsed and actively supported the “Strides for Mackenzie Health” initiative. Families were encouraged to join together in the 5-kilometer walk, promoting the positive effects of exercise on both physical and mental well-being. This also promotes and helps to contribute to a healthier and more compassionate society.
Before 8am on the day of the event, thousands of community members, healthcare professionals and enthusiastic supporters gathered at the entrance of Canada’s Wonderland. Excitement filled the air as they set off on an unforgettable journey within the expansive amusement park. Participants of all ages, from young children to senior citizens, came together to revel in the joy and delight that the day promised to deliver.
“Strides for Mackenzie Health” was a huge success, raising over $215,000 CAD. These funds will play a crucial role in enhancing the medical facilities at Mackenzie Richmond Hill and Cortellucci Vaughan hospitals. Additionally, the funds will be allocated to empower health education initiatives, support research endeavors, and extend compassionate care to community members in their times of greatest need. Furthermore, this achievement serves as a powerful motivator for the general public, encouraging them to prioritize their own well-being and to embrace exercise.
